DanaCap R81

DanaCap is a sealing system developed to enhance the O-ring sealing properties in terms of wear, friction and stick-slip. The sealing system consists of an elastomeric O-ring and a PTFE cap. The seal is suitable for reciprocating applications.
Thanks to the PTFE cap, the O-ring is not in direct contact with the moving surface. The PTFE cap is energised by the O-ring and the PTFE. No stick-slip occurs in the hardware contact. This sealing system is used in standard O-ring grooves in accordance with ISO 9194 and AS4716.

The seal can be equipped with notches. These are tiny grooves in the side of the seal in radial direction to assist O-ring activation in case of persistent pressure pulsation with retraction. The Rod seal family provides a sealing effect between the intermittently moving surface and the inside diameter of the seal. O-rings may limit the temperature range and need to be compatible with the media.

The performance of the seal will always depend on the overall picture of the working conditions.

Verification can only be done by testing the seal in the actual working conditions.
